Attorney Anne Hayes is a former Deputy District Attorney, County of Fresno, and former Deputy District Attorney, County of Santa Barbara. Ms. Hayes is passionate about criminal law and also has a special interest in the small area of animal law. Ms. Hayes is expanding her practice to include personal injury cases and is excited to adopt her father’s expertise in an array of other practice areas. Elizabeth Arreguin received her Bachelor of Arts degree, with a major in History, from the University of California at Santa Barbara, where she was later awarded her Paralegal Certificate after completing a course of studies approved by the American Bar Association.
Ms. Arreguin is fluent in Spanish and English, and able to simultaneously and accurately interpret legal and ordinary conversations from one language to the other. She also able to quickly and accurately translate legal documents and routine correspondence from English to Spanish, and from Spanish to English.
Ms. Arreguin researches and drafts legal documents for review by Mr. Hayes before filing, in addition to scheduling appointments with clients, responding to communications from the courts, other attorneys and clients, and providing other administrative support for the law firm.

GREGORY RADER
PARALEGAL
Gregory Rader is the team’s law clerk and scribe. He researches and drafts writs, motions and appeals in all state and federal courts, with focus on issues arising under the United States Constitution.
Commissioned an Army officer at age 19, Mr. Rader graduated from the Foreign Service/Defense Language Institute, East Coast, before service in Vietnam, where he commanded an artillery battery, served as the fire support coordinator for an infantry battalion, and where he was awarded two Bronze Stars and the Air Medal. He graduated cum laude from the University of California, Santa Barbara, where he was twice selected to serve on the C. Herman Pritchett Constitutional Law moot court.
Mr. Rader has drafted several U.S. Supreme Court petitions for certiorari to state and federal appellate courts; countless petitions for review to the California Supreme Court, and over 100 briefs on appeal to the First, Second and Ninth Circuit Courts of Appeal, and to the California Courts of Appeal. The subject matter of these pleadings has ranged from issues arising under the First, Fourth, Fifth, Sixth, Eighth and Fourteenth Amendments, to immigration matters, employment discrimination, family law disputes and juvenile dependency and delinquency questions. He has also researched and drafted pleadings in the British Columbia Supreme Court for an Appointment of Review of Solicitor.s Bill. Mr. Rader.s writs and motions practice includes petitions for mandamus, probation and habeas corpus to trial and reviewing courts, as well as pre-trial motions, e.g., in limine, suppression, exclusion, and the drafting of pin-point jury instructions.

Robert Strong is a former Santa Barbara Police Lieutenant. His Police investigative experience includes working as a Detective, Detective Sergeant and Detective Lieutenant. His Private Investigator experience includes working as a Licensed Private Investigator specializing in Criminal Defense for twenty years. While working as a Police investigator and Private investigator he has been involved in the investigation of over fifty homicides and has interviewed over ten thousand people. He has a degree in Police Science from Santa Barbara City College and has training certificates in Homicide, Narcotics and Sex Crimes investigation from California State College. He has an advanced P.O.S.T. certificate from the State of California. He has attended CPDA seminars in all phases of investigation including the Death Penalty Seminar in Monterey.

Victor Alvarez is a former major crimes detective with the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s department. He attained a service retirement with the Sheriff’s Department and has over 30 years of law enforcement experience that includes investigating numerous homicides, sexual assaults, and all other major crimes cases.
Mr. Alvarez has an Advanced P.O.S.T. certificate from the State of California and has attended State certified courses related to homicide, sexual assault and robbery crimes. He was born and raised in Santa Barbara.

Crystal Bedolla is a private investigator with Bedolla Investigative Services. Investigator Bedolla began her career with the Santa Barbara Police Department where she spent the last 16 years as a Police Cadet, Patrol Officer, Gang Suppression Team Officer, Major Crimes Detective, and Field Training Officer.

Investigator Bedolla holds a Bachelors Degree in Political Science and Spanish Literature from the University of California Santa Barbara, and is fluent in Spanish.
